Stage 5

Data analysis C (Path)

Stn (Standard), Adv (Advanced) and Ext (Extension) have been used to suggest paths for related Stage 6 courses.

Plan and conduct a statistical inquiry into a question of interest
  • Design an aim and hypothesis based on a question of interest

  • Apply ethical and efficient methods for gathering and organising data

  • Produce a report containing multiple data visualisations that provide insights and information

Examine reports of studies in digital media and elsewhere for information on their planning and implementation
  • Examine and evaluate the appropriateness of sampling methods and Loading  size in reports with statements about a population and how they can affect the results of a survey

  • Critically review surveys, polls and media reports for Loading  and/or Loading 

  • Examine the use of statistics and the associated Loading  in shaping decisions made by governments and companies
