Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Position
Recognise the language of position in everyday contexts
  • Locate the position of familiar objects

  • Respond to positional language to follow an instruction

Use the language of position
  • Describe the position of 2 objects in relation to each other

  • Describe the position of themselves in relation to their environment

Identify position on maps and plans
  • Recognise that objects and features are represented on a map or a plan

  • Locate familiar places on maps

  • Recognise different cultural representations of maps

Recognise the language of direction
  • Recognise the language of direction in everyday contexts

  • Respond to directional language to follow an instruction

Use the language of direction
  • Provide directions to get from one location to another

Use maps to demonstrate understanding of directions
