Comparing and ordering

    develops understanding and fluency in mathematics through exploring and connecting mathematical concepts, choosing and applying mathematical techniques to solve problems, and communicating their thinking and reasoning coherently and clearly

  • MALS-COM-01

    compares and orders numbers

Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Estimate and compare amounts
  • Compare the number of items in a group to solve problems

  • Estimate and compare quantities of items

Order according to numerical value
  • Order groups of objects in ascending or descending order

  • Order numbers

  • Use ordinal terms

  • Identify the value of a given number in relation to other numbers

  • Demonstrate understanding of values greater than, equal to and less than zero
