The Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2022): K–2 Implementation survey will run from 8 September – 19 December 2025.
Implementation from 2024
The new Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2022) is to be implemented from 2024 and replaces the Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2012).
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.
Content
Life Skills
- MAO-WM-01develops understanding and fluency in mathematics through exploring and connecting mathematical concepts, choosing and applying mathematical techniques to solve problems, and communicating their thinking and reasoning coherently and clearly 
- MALS-FRC-01demonstrates knowledge of fractions in everyday contexts 
Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

- Apply the terms half and halves 
- Recognise quarters 
- Apply the term quarter 
- Recognise unit Loading 
- Recognise non-unit fractions where the Loading is a number other than one 
- Recognise fractions in everyday contexts 
- Compare fractions 
- Calculate fractions, with or without technology 
- Apply fractions to solve problems
