The Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2022): K–2 Implementation survey will run from 8 September – 19 December 2025.
Implementation from 2024
The new Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2022) is to be implemented from 2024 and replaces the Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2012).
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.
Content
Life Skills
- MAO-WM-01develops understanding and fluency in mathematics through exploring and connecting mathematical concepts, choosing and applying mathematical techniques to solve problems, and communicating their thinking and reasoning coherently and clearly 
- MALS-VOL-01measures and uses volume, capacity and mass in everyday contexts 
Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.
- Identify the language of Loading , Loading and Loading 
- Identify features of an Loading associated with volume 
- Identify features of an object associated with capacity 
- Identify features of an object associated with mass 
- Use informal units to estimate and measure volume, capacity and mass 
- Recognise appropriate formal units for measuring volume, capacity and mass, including their abbreviations 
- Estimate and measure volume, capacity and mass using formal units 
- Compare volume and capacity using formal measurements 
- Compare mass using formal units 
- Compare the volume and capacity of different objects to solve problems 
- Compare the mass of different objects to solve problems 
- Apply volume, capacity and mass to solve problems
