ACE Rules

NESA has published clarified ACE Rules on the NSW Curriculum website. Stay up to date with the clarified ACE Rules by visiting this website. 

The clarified rules come into effect from 14 October 2024. Schools must not implement the clarified rules before this date. Schools must use the current ACE Rules on Loading... until 14 October 2024.

HSC results services

NESA has published its clarified requirements for principals and students enquiring about HSC results. These rules will come into effect on 14 October 2024.

NESA is authorised under section 20A of the Education Act 1990 (NSW) to prepare and distribute to schools information relating to the conduct of exams and other forms of assessment for HSC candidates.

Principals lodging an Anomalous Results Inquiry

  1. Principals may seek an explanation of the HSC results of their school’s most recent HSC candidature in any course where the performance of a student or group of students is below expectations. 
  2. An explanation of HSC results can only be requested by a principal and must:
    1. outline the principal’s reason for expecting a different result(s)
    2. include relevant students’ names and NESA student numbers, and
    3. be emailed to ari@nesa.nsw.edu.au. by the last working day in February.
  3. Requesting an explanation of HSC results is not an avenue for appeal and does not involve the re-marking of exams.

HSC Results Check for students

  1. Students may request an HSC Results Check in Students Online by the due date outlined on the Loading...
  2. An HSC Results Check confirms that marks were recorded accurately and processed correctly. An HSC Results Check is not an avenue for appeal and does not involve the re-marking of exams.
  3. Payment of a fee is required to process an HSC Results Check.
