Life Skills

Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Materials

Working scientifically

In this focus area, students develop skills in planning scientific investigations, and identifying problems and strategies that can be used to solve them. Additional Working scientifically outcomes and skills may be integrated with this content.

  • Describe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ usage of renewable and non-renewable resources to make and carry tools

Plastics
  • Identify uses of plastics

  • Describe the environmental impact of using plastics

  • Identify strategies or possible solutions to reduce the impacts of plastic litter in the local area

  • Participate in planning and conducting a physical survey of the local area to determine the quantity and types of plastics found in the environment
