Understanding texts
Understanding and responding to target language texts
  • Listen to, Loading  or view Loading  by participating in shared activities

  • Connect vocabulary with actions, people, places and objects

  • Respond by following simple commands or repeating words seen or heard in Loading 

Developing knowledge of language systems to understand and respond to target language texts
  • Recognise the meaning of modelled high-frequency vocabulary and of vocabulary in the target language that is similar in English or in other Loading 

  • Recognise and reproduce the sounds and Loading  patterns of the target language

  • Connect Loading  in the target language with familiar sounds

  • Recognise that the target language Loading  is different from English
