Life Skills

Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Fundamentals of movement

Some students with disability may require adjustments or modifications, including the use of assistive devices to participate in movement skills and experiences.

Practising movement skills
  • Recognise the role of movement in everyday living

  • Develop skills to support movement in everyday contexts

  • Recognise a range of fundamental movement skills used in everyday contexts

  • Identify how fundamental movement skills are used in physical activity or sport

  • Identify how fundamental movement skills can improve participation and engagement

  • Identify how specialised movement skills are used in physical activity or sport

  • Use fundamental or specialised movement skills to participate in physical activity or sport

  • Explore the range of skills used in emerging forms of physical activity or sports

  • Recognise practice methods used to enhance fundamental movement skills

  • Use practice methods to develop movement skills

  • Develop body awareness in a range of physical activities or sports

  • Engage with movements using different levels of effort
