Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Physical activity and sport in society
The positive impact of physical activity and sport
  • Engage with school or community activities involving physical activity or sport

  • Identify personal reasons for engaging in physical activity or sport

  • Identify the benefits of engaging in physical activity or sport

  • Recognise factors that can influence participation in physical activity or sport

  • Explore adaptive sports equipment and its role in improving participation for a range of people

  • Identify strategies that encourage people to engage in physical activity or sport in the local community

  • Identify factors that can influence perspectives on physical activity or sport

  • Investigate how Aboriginal and Torres Islander Peoples’ physical connections to Country and Place support participation in physical activity or sport

  • Explore the importance of physical activity and sport for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, their Cultures and Communities

  • Explore a range of culturally significant sports, games and/or activities

  • Recognise the benefits of participating in culturally diverse sports, games and/or activities
