Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Aquatic environments and conservation
Physical characteristics of aquatic environments
  • Explore personal interactions with rivers, oceans or seas

  • Identify and locate the major oceans, seas and river systems of the world

  • Identify the major drivers of water movement in oceans

  • Use tidal charts to record times and heights of tides

  • Explore the impact of tides on marine organisms

  • Investigate the influence of tides on human activity

  • Recognise the safety precautions needed around tidal areas

  • Identify the abiotic factors of aquatic environments at various depths
