The new Industrial Technology 7–10 Syllabus (2025) is to be implemented from 2028 and will replace the Industrial Technology 7–10 Syllabus (2019).
2026 and 2027 – Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2028 – Start teaching the new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts. Schools may choose to implement the new syllabus during the planning and preparation phase.

The following points guide teachers to select safe, accessible and appropriate materials, resources, tools and equipment relevant to the industry and project, and the stage of learning.
Schools must follow education sector or school-based policies and guidelines regarding age restrictions and supervision requirements for specific equipment.
All equipment marked with an asterisk (*) may have additional size and age restrictions and a local risk assessment may be required.
Students with disability may require adjustments.
Fittings and fixtures (e.g. windows and doors, masonry fixings, skirting and architraves, fascia), plumbing, precast concrete components, prefabricated components
Laser levels, plumb-bob, rafter square, sliding bevel, spirit levels, string or chalk lines, stud finder, tape measure
