Children globally (option)
The health and wellbeing of children around the world
  • Identify the challenges affecting the growth and development of children around the world

  • Research the health status of children around the world

  • Examine factors that affect the health status of children outside Australia

  • Describe the impact of global issues on the health and wellbeing of children, including changes in climate

  • Investigate the nature of planetary health and its impact on the health of children globally

  • Evaluate global strategies and policies that support the health and wellbeing of children

  • Describe the importance of engaging with children on the issues that affect them around the world

  • Explain how developing respect for diversity supports the health and wellbeing of children globally

International child care and education
  • Describe how intercultural awareness can be enhanced through play and other experiences

  • Identify differences in access to education and child care around the world

  • Explain the role of education in supporting children to share their own cultures and learn about the diversity of other cultures

  • Compare differences in education and schooling for children in Australia and 2 other countries

  • Investigate the impact of historical and systemic factors on educational outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and for Indigenous children around the world

The lives of children globally
  • Explore different child-rearing practices globally

  • Compare the household responsibilities of children globally

  • Investigate the structure of family and its role in child rearing in 2 different countries and cultures

  • Discuss the influence of food availability on children around the world

  • Analyse how technology is used by children globally to support their development
