The new Aboriginal Studies 7–10 Syllabus (2024) is to be implemented from 2027.
2025 and 2026 – Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2027 – Start teaching the new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.

- Aboriginal Peoples and the visual arts
- Aboriginal Peoples and the performing arts
- Aboriginal Peoples and the media
- Aboriginal Peoples interaction with legal and political systems
- Aboriginal Peoples and film and television
- Aboriginal Peoples and technologies
- Aboriginal Peoples and sport
- School-developed option.
A range of on-Country technologies developed and used by Aboriginal Peoples
Ways in which Aboriginal Peoples' technologies are an integral part of Aboriginal social and Cultural Practices
Relationship between Aboriginal Peoples' technologies and the environment, including land, sea and waterways management Practices
Colonial representations of Aboriginal Peoples' technologies
Impact of invasion on Aboriginal Peoples' technologies and environmental management practices
Ways in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and non-Aboriginal people have shared and adapted each other's technologies
Post-invasion perceptions of Aboriginal Peoples' technologies, and methods of challenging misconceptions
Links between Aboriginal Peoples' environmental management practices and sustainability
Impacts of recognition and use of Aboriginal Peoples' Knowledges and technologies in the environment
Contribution of Aboriginal Peoples' Cultural Knowledges to contemporary scientific and technological development and innovation
