Appreciating
Dramatic contexts
  • Describe personal experiences with artistic, cultural, social and personal contexts, protocols and intentions as maker, performer and audience

  • Discuss how ideas, images and stories explore and express individual and collective identities, values and perspectives

  • Describe how dramatic works, practices or practitioners use dramatic conventions to shape forms and styles in making and performing

  • Describe the dynamic and evolving Cultural Knowledges of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander works, practices or practitioners

  • Use language appropriate to context to communicate about works and processes

  • Communicate a perspective about devised and scripted theatrical works with reference to staged examples

Dramatic processes
  • Describe embodied experiences of drama

  • Seek, exchange and consider perspectives with others to reflect on collaborative and collective experiences

  • Identify processes which support physical, emotional and cultural safety, respect and inclusion in drama

  • Identify how to support ethical processes for drama practitioners, including respect for Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP)

  • Reflect on processes for developing and strengthening new creative and critical ideas

  • Make, accept and extend interpretations of drama in discussion with others

  • Describe the impact of individual and group contributions to group-devising processes and works

Dramatic elements
  • Describe how performance or production choices shape roles, characters and situations

  • Describe how choices in the elements of drama shape audience impact

  • Explain how control of the elements of performance is developed and applied

  • Explore how the elements of production can shape dramatic works and experiences

  • Explain in writing the effect of the elements of drama, performance and production to shape dramatic meaning and audience engagement in ideas, moments and journeys
