The new Personal Development, Health and Physical Education K−6 Syllabus (2024) is to be implemented from 2027.
2025 and 2026 – Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2027 – Start teaching the new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.

Stage 2
- PH2-SMI-01
explains and applies self-management and interpersonal skills in a range of contexts
Describe how an individual’s emotional responses to situations can affect others
Identify and apply self-regulation strategies in response to situations and emotions offline and online
Apply problem-solving and decision-making actions to enhance learning
Explain how a positive mindset contributes to resilience and wellbeing using Tier 2 and Tier 3 vocabulary
Create and monitor goals to enhance learning
Apply feedback to improve skills and strategies in a range of contexts
Use a combination of written sentences to describe how self-management skills enhance relationships and wellbeing
Apply interpersonal skills to enhance positive and respectful interactions
Demonstrate respectfully winning, losing and accepting decisions
Apply communication and cooperation skills in group activities to promote inclusion
