K–6Personal Development, Health and Physical Education K–6 Syllabus (2024)
The new Personal Development, Health and Physical Education K–6 Syllabus (2024) is to be implemented from 2027 and will replace the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education K–10 Syllabus (2018).
2025 and 2026 – Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2027 – Start teaching the new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts. Schools may choose to implement the new syllabus during the planning and preparation phase.

Early Stage 1
- PHE-SMI-01identifies and demonstrates self-management and interpersonal skills 
- Identify and describe various emotions 
- Identify ways to manage emotions 
- Use help-seeking and decision-making actions to ask for assistance 
- Identify how connections to others, persistence, problem-solving and help-seeking builds resilience 
- Co-create goals to assist learning 
- Respond to feedback to improve skills and identify accomplishments 
- Identify how people respectfully communicate for a range of purposes 
- Recognise how personal strengths contribute to the success of group activities 
- Use interpersonal skills to cooperate with others
