Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Art critical and historical studies: Viewpoints
Structural
  • Respond to materials and symbols used in artworks

  • Recognise the signs, symbols, codes or forms of visual and/or multisensory language used in artworks

  • Recognise the symbols and signs used by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Artists to communicate ideas in artworks

Subjective
  • Use personal experiences to respond to artworks

  • Recognise emotion, personal experiences, imagination or memories in artworks

  • Recognise lived experiences, the Dreaming or Storytelling in artworks by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Artists

Cultural
  • Respond to artworks using own cultural experiences

  • Recognise that artworks communicate personal, social or cultural experiences

  • Recognise ways Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Artists represent Cultural and social perspectives of local Community(ies)

Contemporary
  • Respond to artworks that challenge beliefs, roles or relationships

  • Recognise that artworks raise awareness about ideas, social interests or concerns to challenge audiences

  • Recognise ways Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Artists challenge, critique or reimagine accepted narratives or relationships
