Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Food industry processing and operations
Food processing systems
  • Identify foods that can be grown for consumption

  • Explore how foods that are grown are made safe for consumption

  • Identify processes that can be used to transform raw ingredients into other foods

  • Explore how technology is used in food processing

  • Identify how food properties can change during processing

  • Recognise foods that can be preserved

  • Identify ways food can be preserved

  • Explore food preservation methods developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
