The new Agriculture 11–12 Syllabus (2026) is to be implemented from 2028 and will replace the Agriculture Stage 6 Syllabus (2013).
2027
- Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2028, Term 1
- Start teaching the new syllabus for Year 11
- Start implementing new Year 11 school-based assessment requirements
- Continue to teach the Agriculture Stage 6 Syllabus (2013) for Year 12
2028, Term 4
- Start teaching the new syllabus for Year 12
- Start implementing new Year 12 school-based assessment requirements
2029
- First HSC examination for the new syllabus

justifies and applies a research methodology in agricultural investigations

interprets and analyses data and information from a range of sources
- AG-12-07
communicates agricultural concepts using evidence from a range of sources
Plan, conduct and report on a practical investigation to demonstrate the effect of a crop establishment factor on plant growth
Identify potential hazards and develop a risk mitigation plan
Assess ethical issues in a practical investigation
Justify the use of sample size, randomisation, replication, variables and experimental controls in a practical investigation
Calculate the mean and standard deviation of firsthand data
Use mean and standard deviation values to determine the validity and reliability of data
Identify patterns and trends in the data
Select and use a range of media to communicate findings
