The new Agriculture 11–12 Syllabus (2026) is to be implemented from 2028 and will replace the Agriculture Stage 6 Syllabus (2013).

Identify the contribution of agricultural production to Australia’s export earnings
Identify major agricultural export competitors for beef, grain and horticultural produce
Explain Australia’s counter-seasonal agricultural production timelines
Explain the purposes of Australia’s traceability system, including to establish ownership, and for disease mitigation and food safety
Use captured traceability data to analyse feedback provided to Australian producers
Analyse the advantages and disadvantages of constraints on the development and use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Australian agricultural production
Analyse how consumer preferences influence the development of market specifications for agricultural products
Identify risks to Australian agriculture, including biosecurity, energy and fertiliser supply and climate change
Describe the influence of supply and demand on commercial agricultural enterprises
Explain the market specification for a plant product and an animal product for an export market
Explain the impact of product perishability, seasonal climatic conditions and production timeframes on supply and demand
