Teachers select at least ONE depth study option from the list below:

  • Key cultural, scientific and philosophical developments in the modern world
  • Movements for democracy and peace in the modern world
  • Political conflict and its aftermath in a country or region in the modern world
  • Significant group or individual from a country or region in the modern world
  • Social and political history of a country or region in the modern world
  • Women in the modern world
Depth study (option) – Colonisation and decolonisation in the modern world

Content in Thinking and working historically outlines how historical concepts and skills are to be integrated with all other content in this focus area as part of the process of historical inquiry.
