Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Composition
Context
  • Appropriate ways of interacting with others in dance, including gaining, giving and/or denying consent and online safety

  • Personal Loading  can be used to generate ideas and make choices in composition

  • The language of dance composition in context

  • The role of the choreographer to communicate ideas

  • The process of composition includes stimulus, idea, Loading  and the generation and structuring of movement

  • Contribute ideas towards a dance composition

  • Respect others’ ideas and contributions to composition

The dancing body
  • Express a feeling or an idea through movement

  • Engage in improvisation activities to build a personal movement vocabulary

  • Loading  with others to create and Loading  movement

  • Create movement(s) in response to a variety of stimuli to communicate an idea

  • Use the environment as stimuli for Loading 

Elements of dance
  • Generate movement by exploring aspects of space, time and/or Loading 

  • Select and order a Loading  of movement with a beginning, middle and end using the Loading 

  • Record and reflect on own practice of generating movement
