Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Identity, belonging and change
Building a healthy sense of identity to enhance wellbeing and inclusion
  • Recognise personal characteristics, strengths and abilities

  • Recognise and respect the Loading  of individuals

  • Demonstrate respectful attitudes towards the characteristics, strengths and abilities of others

  • Apply strategies to develop a positive sense of self

  • Recognise factors that contribute to Loading 

  • Identify cultural roles and practices that build a sense of Loading 

  • Identify the ways in which Loading  connect to Loading , Language and Cultural practices to shape personal identity

  • Practise skills and strategies to support a positive sense of identity and belonging

  • Recognise own and others’ communities

  • Identify roles and responsibilities within communities

  • Identify and demonstrate ways to join a team or group

  • Identify support services in the community and online that enhance connectedness and inclusion

  • Identify how connectedness and inclusion positively affect Loading 

  • Demonstrate ways to value diversity and enhance inclusion and belonging for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and across a diverse range of Loading 

  • Develop and demonstrate inclusive practices for culture, Loading , age, religion, sexuality and gender to support a positive sense of identity

  • Recognise the impact of Loading , Loading  and prejudice on the wellbeing of individuals, groups and society

Managing growth and change
  • Recognise how the body physically grows and changes through the stages of development

  • Recognise how people change emotionally during adolescence

  • Recognise and Loading  for the right to privacy, safety and being treated with dignity and sensitivity

  • Develop and demonstrate personal hygiene procedures to care for the body

  • Develop and use protective strategies to enhance safety during personal care

  • Identify parts of the reproductive system

  • Identify the function of the reproductive system

  • Identify and develop strategies to manage changes during adolescence

  • Recognise emotions associated with stress, grief and loss, and strategies to manage these
