Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Geographical inquiry skills

Geographical inquiry skills content is to be integrated throughout the course where appropriate.

Acquiring geographical information
  • Identify an issue

  • Ask or develop geographical questions

  • Participate in a geographical investigation

  • Collect geographical data

  • Locate geographical data and information

  • Record geographical information

Processing geographical information
  • Recognise data and information for its usefulness

  • Record data and information using geographical tools as appropriate

  • Use geographical tools to interpret data and information to identify patterns and trends

  • Represent conclusions or ideas

Communicating geographical information
  • Communicate geographical information using appropriate communication forms and technologies

  • Respond to geographical issues or challenges by displaying active citizenship skills

  • Create oral, visual, written or multimodal texts for different purposes, audiences and contexts using relevant communication forms and technologies
