The new Visual Arts 7–10 Syllabus (2024) is to be implemented from 2027.

2027 – Start teaching new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.

selects and applies aspects of Practice to represent points of view in a body of work
Research, document, justify and apply ideas about own intentions, choices and actions as artists in the Visual Arts diary
Investigate, invent, adapt and apply a range of strategies when selecting materials, techniques and procedures to represent ideas about the world and refine a body of work
Investigate how intentions, choices and actions can represent ideas about the world when using different viewpoints
Evaluate the relationship between concepts and material choices in representing ideas when making a body of work
Select 2D, 3D and 4D art forms to represent ideas and meaning in a body of work
Develop, refine and demonstrate technical accomplishment in a body of work
Demonstrate curatorial judgement to customise, select, arrange and present artworks as a body of work to audiences
Create written texts to reflect on and justify intentions, choices and actions in art making
Use subject-specific language to communicate and represent Artworld concepts and Viewpoints that inform art making
Apply protocols for art making with respect for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Artists, Communities and Cultural Knowledges, including Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP)
Apply appropriate protocols and responsibilities for working safely and respectfully with others
Demonstrate safe, ethical and inclusive practices when making, sharing and discussing artworks
