The new Drama 11–12 Syllabus (2025) is to be implemented from 2027 and will replace the Drama Stage 6 Syllabus (2009).

Content
Year 11
Students analyse and explore how dramatic practitioners shape and interpret scripted works to realise creative intent. Through experimentation and enactment they interpret and stage a variety of scripted works, conventions and approaches. Students explore how dramatic elements are selected, manipulated and communicated through scriptwriting, performance, direction and design to create dramatic meaning for an audience.
Analyse the ways context, ideas, intentions, forms and styles shape creative choices in dramatic works
Create a concept that uses dramatic elements to shape meaning in a scripted work
Integrate acting, design and direction to a scripted work to structure a dramatic journey and realise creative intent
Apply dramatic elements in scripted scenes to engage audiences and shape meaning
Integrate elements of production with a directorial concept and creative choices to realise interpretations of selected moments
Document processes to support the making, realisation and development of dramatic works
Enact scripted works by applying dramatic elements and conventions to realise a directorial concept
Apply the elements of performance in response to dramatic contexts to embody characters or roles
Stage dramatic works adapting the aesthetic styles and elements of production
Shape the dramatic journeys of characters through the actor–audience relationship to realise creative intent
Manipulate the dramatic elements in the staging of scripted works to realise a concept and shape audience engagement
Apply the elements of production in live, recorded or hybrid performances as a performer or practitioner to realise creative intent
Reflect on the ways dramatic contexts and elements shape choices to realise creative intent
Assess the influence of directorial concepts in the ways dramatic processes and elements are applied in scripted works
Identify and evaluate the ways the elements of performance shape meaning in the staging of works
