2026 – Start teaching new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Personal context can be used to generate ideas and make choices in composition
The language of dance composition in context
The role of the choreographer to communicate ideas
The process of composition includes stimulus, idea, intent and the generation and structuring of movement
Contribute ideas towards a dance composition
Respect others’ ideas and contributions to composition
Express a feeling or an idea through movement
Engage in improvisation activities to build a personal movement vocabulary
Collaborate with others to create and structure movement
Create movement(s) in response to a variety of stimuli to communicate an idea
Use the environment as stimuli for generating movement
Generate movement by exploring aspects of space, time and/or dynamics
Select and order a phrase of movement with a beginning, middle and end using the elements of dance
