Life Skills for Stage 6

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

Agricultural research
Plan and conduct a practical investigation
  • Participate in a practical investigation into the effect of a crop establishment factor on plant growth

  • Participate in sequencing steps in an investigation

  • Identify reasons variables are kept the same or changed in an investigation

  • Identify the data or information to be gathered

  • Identify methods to collect data

  • Select appropriate tools and equipment

  • Identify practices to improve safety in an investigation

  • Follow a plan to participate in an investigation

  • Contribute individually and/or collaboratively during an investigation

  • Obtain permission from others to work collaboratively or share equipment

  • Implement safe practices and follow safety rules

  • Apply ethical principles when participating in an investigation

  • Use tools and equipment appropriately

  • Record data and information

Evaluate and communicate results of a practical investigation
  • Participate in calculations using recorded data

  • Draw conclusions from data and information

  • Identify patterns and trends in data

  • Communicate information, results and conclusions
