The new Agriculture Life Skills 11–12 Syllabus (2026) is to be implemented from 2028 and will replace Agriculture Life Skills Stage 6 (2010).
2027
- Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2028, Term 1
- Start teaching the new syllabus for Year 11
- Continue to teach Agriculture Life Skills Stage 6 (2010) for Year 12
2028, Term 4
- Start teaching the new syllabus for Year 12
Content
Life Skills
Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.
Participate in a practical investigation into the effect of a crop establishment factor on plant growth
Participate in sequencing steps in an investigation
Identify reasons variables are kept the same or changed in an investigation
Identify the data or information to be gathered
Identify methods to collect data
Select appropriate tools and equipment
Identify practices to improve safety in an investigation
Follow a plan to participate in an investigation
Contribute individually and/or collaboratively during an investigation
Obtain permission from others to work collaboratively or share equipment
Implement safe practices and follow safety rules
Apply ethical principles when participating in an investigation
Use tools and equipment appropriately
Record data and information
Participate in calculations using recorded data
Draw conclusions from data and information
Identify patterns and trends in data
Communicate information, results and conclusions
