- Continue to teach the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education Life Skills Stage 6 Syllabus (2007) for Year 12

- Start teaching new syllabus for Year 12 students
Content
Life Skills
Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.
Identify personal factors that influence health
Explore sociocultural factors that influence health
Discuss environmental factors that influence health
Identify groups of people in Australia who may experience health problems or inequity
Describe chronic conditions, diseases and injury affecting the health of Australians
Explore the major causes of morbidity and mortality, and the life expectancy for Australians
Explore methods and strategies that can be used to improve the health status of Australians
Investigate the impact of a growing and ageing population on Australia’s health
Compare the health status of Australians with that of people of another OECD country
Explore factors that contribute to differing health status in other countries
Recognise a healthcare facility or service they access
Identify the range and types of healthcare facilities and services in their local community
Recognise circumstances when support from healthcare services is needed
Describe and/or use strategies to locate and access information and services from health organisations
