Aim
The aim of Auslan K–10 is to empower students to become effective communicators in Auslan through developing linguistic competence and cultural understanding.
Students:
- learn to interact, understand and create texts effectively in Auslan
- reflect on their own language, culture and identity and those of others, including the Deaf community
- develop an interest in and appreciation of communicating in Auslan in a culturally appropriate manner
- foster an appreciation and respect for the diversity of cultures.
