7–10Work Education 7–10 Syllabus (2025)
The new Work Education 7–10 Syllabus (2025) is to be implemented from 2028 and will replace the Work Education 7–10 Syllabus (2019).
2026 and 2027 – Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2028 – Start teaching the new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts. Schools may choose to implement the new syllabus during the planning and preparation phase.

in Stage 4 teachers may adjust the Stage 5 outcomes as appropriate to the needs of students in Years 7 and 8.

- School-developed option.

The purpose and structure of an employment application cover letter
The implications of a job candidate’s digital footprint, including social media profiles
The preparation and skills needed for a successful individual and group job interview
The importance of reflecting on interview skills after a job interview and identifying methods for improvement
The importance of using a targeted cover letter and curriculum vitae (CV) to align a job application with the selection criteria of a job advertisement
Types of pre-employment screening checks and reasons for their use
The use of a workplace code of conduct to identify employer expectations
The relationship between transferable skills and technical skills and how these skills can be demonstrated in a job application and in an interview
