7–10Work Education 7–10 Syllabus (2025)
The new Work Education 7–10 Syllabus (2025) is to be implemented from 2028 and will replace the Work Education 7–10 Syllabus (2019).
2026 and 2027 – Plan and prepare to teach the new syllabus
2028 – Start teaching the new syllabus
School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts. Schools may choose to implement the new syllabus during the planning and preparation phase.

The importance of digital literacy knowledge and skills in the workplace
Ways to gain and develop knowledge and skills needed for work, including through education and training
The benefits of transferable skills and technical skills
The features of diverse workplaces
The Cultural protocols of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers
Factors affecting work opportunities for diverse groups in the community including access for people with disability, language barriers and discrimination
Policies, initiatives and strategies supporting diversity in the workplace
Strategies to remove barriers to work opportunities for diverse groups in the community
The nature and benefits of open employment for people with disability
The roles of organisations that support diverse groups
The positive impacts of diversity in the workplace
Examine and practise skills needed to work in hypothetical and real-world work situations
Investigate a current issue in relation to the nature of work and communicate findings using subject-specific terminology in written, oral, visual or multimodal form
Create written texts to explain and analyse aspects of the nature of work
