Life Skills

Life Skills for Stage 4/5

Through collaborative curriculum planning, it may be decided that Life Skills outcomes and content are the most appropriate option for some students with intellectual disability.

School-developed option
Selection of an area of interest
  • Determine the specific area of interest relevant to the syllabus outcomes

  • Identify information sources to investigate the specific area of interest

Research
  • Plan the research

  • Locate relevant information using a range of strategies

  • Select information relevant to the investigation

  • Recognise ethical practices when researching

  • Use strategies to process and organise the information collected

Communication and application
  • Develop a plan to present the information researched

  • Select and use appropriate oral, visual, written or multimodal text to communicate the research findings

  • Incorporate images, diagrams and/or tables

  • Communicate the findings

  • Communicate solutions and/or actions in response to the specific area of interest investigated
