Year 11

Close study of literature

Students develop their knowledge and appreciation of a substantial literary print text. Through their close study of and personal responses to the text in its entirety, students develop an understanding of the ways that Loading , text structures and stylistic choices can be used in literary texts.

Students study ONE substantial literary print text, such as prose fiction, drama or poetry. They identify, analyse and Loading  to the ideas in the text and the ways in which meaning is shaped. Students examine the Loading  that are particular to the chosen literary Loading , and the ways that authors use, manipulate or challenge those conventions.

Understanding
  • The ways textual forms and language features, including Loading , Loading  and point of view, shape meaning

  • The relationship between language and content in a literary text

  • The ways language forms, features and structure conform to, or challenge, accepted conventions

  • The ways that different Loading  can affect interpretations of a text

Responding
  • Select, interpret and use appropriate textual evidence to support informed personal interpretations of a literary text

  • Loading  logical, ordered and cohesive texts that build effective arguments in response to the ideas generated from a literary text

  • Compose Loading  and creative texts that reflect particular Loading  and perspectives, including their own
