School sectors are responsible for implementing syllabuses and are best placed to provide schools with specific guidance and information on implementation given their understanding of their individual contexts.

How businesses differentiate goods and services
Identifying the relevant target market for particular goods and services
The range of techniques used by businesses to promote their goods and services
The factors influencing promotional techniques
The advantages and disadvantages of different promotional techniques
The effectiveness of promotional techniques to maximise the sale of a particular good or service
The legal and ethical issues which may arise from particular promotional techniques
Legislation related to promoting goods and services to children and young people
The role of advertising codes and standards
Investigate a current issue in relation to the promotion and selling of goods and services, and communicate findings using relevant subject-specific terminology in written, oral, visual or multimodal form
Create written texts to explain and analyse aspects of promoting and selling
