Political action
  • Types of issues of concern at different levels of government that can affect the lives of individuals and the community

  • The methods individuals and groups can use to influence political processes and political decisions in relation to addressing issues of concern

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the methods used to influence political processes and political decisions

Getting elected
  • The right to stand for public office

  • How to become a candidate for an election at different levels of government, including eligibility requirements

  • The roles and responsibilities of elected representatives

Community participation
  • Opportunities to become active participants in the community

  • The benefits of community involvement

  • Investigate the purpose and contribution of a community organisation that involves young people

Thinking, researching and communicating
  • Investigate a current issue in relation to political and/or community involvement, and communicate findings using relevant subject-specific terminology in written, oral, visual or multimodal form

  • Create written texts to explain and analyse aspects of political and community involvement
