Aim

The aim of the Modern History Life Skills 11–12 Syllabus is consistent with the aim of the Modern History 11–12 Syllabus. The Modern History aim is provided below.

The study of Modern History in Years 11–12 enables students to develop knowledge and understanding of the modern world and the skills of critical analysis. Students have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, values and attitudes essential for an appreciation of the diverse people, ideas and forces that shape the modern world. By undertaking the course, students can develop a lifelong interest in the study of history and prepare for active and informed citizenship in the contemporary world.
